MIMG Course Planning

Course Planning Expectations

MIMG students should work with MIMG Advisors and UCLA College Advisors for course/degree planning. This ensures timely graduation and completion of all degree requirements while allowing students to make the most of their UCLA experience.

MIMG Advisors assist with course planning for MIMG major preparation and requirements (contact MIMG Advisors by emailing undergrad@microbio.ucla.edu with your UID). MIMG Advisors can also support with Pre-Health Requirements and course planning for Pre-Health students (see other Pre-Health Services). We can also provide guidance on MIMG Undergraduate Research coursework options.

*Students can confirm their College Advising Unit at the top of the Degree Audit (within MyUCLA).

About MIMG Course Plans:

• Example MIMG major plans are examples only and do not apply to all students. 
  • Students must meet the requisite requirements to enroll in needed courses, and students must plan for enrollment with the guidance of MIMG advisors. Students, please contact MIMG Advisors (undergrad@microbio.ucla) with your UID to discuss your personal plan or ask for feedback on a draft plan. 
• These draft plans only include MIMG major preparation requirements and upper-division MIMG major requirements. The sheet currently leaves space for non-MIMG requirements/UCLA/College requirements, noting as “UCLA Req.” on the sample plan.

• Students can request alternative formats via email. Please email undergrad@microbio.ucla.edu to inquire about sample majors plans in your preferred format and any accessibility needs. 

   

How to Use Sample MIMG Course Plans:

• MIMG advisors recommend making a copy of the sample plan (i.e. "make a copy" and/or download).
• Students should please review MIMG enrollment and course plans via email (undergrad@microbio.ucla.edu) or via an MIMG advising session as appropriate. 
• Students should please contact UCLA College Advisors for Graduation planning and UCLA/College requirements. 
• If students have a minor or an additional major, they should please connect with the respective UCLA departmental Advisors and/or the respective UCLA Professional School Advisors.
