Research Interest:
Accurate DNA replication and protein translation are critical for the normal functioning of cells. We are investigating how mutations arise in bacteria in response to mistakes during the translation process and what other phenotypic consequences occur in response to errors in the translation process. We are using bacteria Escherichia coli and Bacillus subtilis as model bacteria species to address these fundamental questions.
