This meeting will focus on contemporary issues of posttranscriptional gene expression and its regulation, in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. Specific areas of interest include:
  • enzymes and multicomponent "machines" involved in mRNA decay

  • regulatory RNA structures and interacting regulatory proteins

  • control of translation initiation

  • modulation of RNA decay

  • the role of polyadenylation in translation and RNA decay

  • coordination between RNA decay and translation

  • the coordination of regulatory events at RNA termini
