The meeting is scheduled to be held from September 14–18, 2008, at the UCLA Conference Center 
at 850 Willow Creek Road, Lake Arrowhead, CA 92352. The facility will provide group meals, in a private dining area so the participants will have maximum opportunities for mingling and informal discussions. At this time of year, the surrounding area provides hiking and other outdoor activities which could be used during free time in the early afternoon, before poster sessions. The facility offers four tennis courts, a putting green, a swimming pool and heated jacuzzis, and acres of virgin forest and shoreline. The guest rooms are duplex cabins with a bed and private bathroom on each story. Each room contains a fireplace.
GETTING THERE:
The Conference Center is located high in the San Bernadino Mountains, just two hours from Los Angeles and San Diego, about one hour away from Ontario International Airport (see the directions below).
The pickup point for the buses this year is the Los Angeles Airport Marriott (which is distinct from the LAX Courtyard Marriott; the key word identifying this other, incorrect hotel is “courtyard”). The correct Los Angeles Airport Marriott is at 5855 West Century Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90045 (310/641–5700). This is served by a shuttle that goes to each terminal every 25 minutes. Please verify with the shuttle driver that you are going to the Los Angeles Airport Marriott, and not the Courtyard Marriott, which is also on Century Blvd. The Marriott has a Starbucks and three restaurants, as well as a lobby, to facilitate waiting. As before, buses will leave at 2:30 pm, and 3:30 pm, so please allow time for the shuttle, finding the bus, etc.
DIRECTIONS
To reach Intersection of I-10 and I-215 in San Bernadino:- from Los Angeles area and north, take I-10 East
- from Long Beach area, take Hwy 91 East
- from Orange County, take 91 East
- from San Diego, take I-15, then I-215 North
- From I-10 at I-215, North on I-215 for 6 miles to fork
- Bear right on Hwy 30; exit at Hwy 18 (Waterman Ave.)
- Left on Hwy 18 for 22 miles to Lake Arrowhead turn-off
- Left to Lake Arrowhead on Hwy 173 for 2 miles to 4-way stop
- Right on Hwy 173 for 4-3/4 miles to Willow Creek Road on left
- Left on Willow Creek Road 1/2 mile to entrance on right
